RAIDAG with Frosty Blades Ice Dance

RAIDAG (Reunion Amicale international de Danseurs Amateurs sur Glace) is an annual gathering of ice dancers from across Europe; France, Holland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland including the UK and the USA. Internationally respected Ice Dance Coaches Lynn Burton and Duncan Lenard of  Frosty Blades Ice Dance are the resident coaches.

The winter season in Celerina/Schlarigna is increasingly important owing to tourism over the last couple of decades.

In the summertime visitors to this beautiful place can enjoy hiking, mountaineering and mountain biking. Close by too there is golf, glider flying, swimming and hang-gliding.

Winter sports include; Ice Dancing and skating, both Nordic and alpine skiing, bobsleigh, and skeleton, (the famous Cresta Run ends in Celerina).

There is a direct skiers gondola from Celerina into the heart of the St.Moritz ski area of Corviglia/Marguns, a major portion of which lies in the municipality of Celerina/Schlarigna.

The RAIDAG (Reunion Amicale international de Danseurs Amateurs sur Glace) annual event is held in January at the Cresta Palace Hotel in Celerina, Switzerland.

The Hotel provides two major outdoor ice surfaces for this international event, the tennis courts and recreation area in front of the hotel are flooded. A hockey rink is also available.

GB acclaimed Ice Dance coaches Lynn Burton & Duncan Lenard of Frosty Blades Ice Dance coach for the duration of the course – between them they are; former Junior and Senior British Ice Dance Champions and Medallists, International Gold Medallists, European and World Ice Dance Championship Competitors.

Ice Dance sessions begin at 9 am and conclude at 4 pm each day with a one hour break for lunch from 1 to 2 pm.  Private lessons are available in 20 minute increments from 9 am to the beginning of the group lesson at 10:20 am. 

Group lessons are conducted at two levels during this hour:  the lower level includes typically pre-silver and silver dances such as Fox Trot, European Waltz, Tango, Rocker and Blues and the international dance The Starlight Waltz; the higher level: includes typically pre-gold and gold dances such as Paso, Viennese, Quickstep, American Waltz. 


Social dance music is played during the remaining hours ranging from simple dances to gold and international level dances.  Individual lessons are available in 20 minute increments from 11:20 to 4 pm.
